One of our favourite local labels, Bassike, has released a preview of their Summer 14/15 Resort range and it’s as aesthetically clean and fantastic as you can imagine.

Known for their minimalist design and focus on construction, shape and quality fabrics, Bassike’s Resort SS 14/15 range takes these elements and exaggerates them. The result is a collection of oversized, draped garments that are as comfortable as they are luxurious.

Maintaining their traditional French Riviera colour palette, Bassike’s resort range is on point with this season’s key colours of blue and white. What’s interesting is their interpretation of resort – combining elements of sportswear and traditional tailoring methods used in menswear (is that a coat with tails? we hope so) the result is a hybrid sports-luxe collection.

However it’s the finer details to the range where the fun really starts to happen – elongated drop crotches, asymmetrical hemlines on shorts and androgynous and oversized shirting that someone described as ‘asylum’ chic. The whole feel is one that has moved on from simply being minimal to something more clinical – and we love it.

Must have item for the summer? Huge, drop-crotch pants in white and the stunning open fronted shirts with draped backs. More fun than a boat full of monkeys.
